Flexstone VS Duradek: What's The Difference?

The main difference between these two products is that Flexstone is seamless and can be used on all surfaces, while Duradek is typically used as a deck coating on wood decks. For example, Flexstone can be used with front stairs, garages, pool areas and even driveways.  Flexstone is CCM approved and therefor can also be used as a waterproof membrane over living areas such as flat roofs.  As well, Flexstone is highly resident to chemical and cleaning agents.  Both products are made with high-quality materials and will last for years, but Flexstone will last longer! Flexstone is a urethane coating system, while Duradek is a PVC-based vinyl product. 

Urethane coatings are used mainly for exterior surfaces and provide superior durability, flexibility and waterproofing. Compared to vinyl membranes, Urethane coatings last 20 to 30 years than vinyl membranes of 10 to 15 years. This is because urethane coatings do not require a primer on the surface before application. Urethane coatings can be applied on new or existing surfaces and will not peel off like other products. Urethane coatings like Flexstone have a seamless design that allows easy cleaning and creates a water-tight seal. Vinyl deck coatings like Duradek have seams which can be an issue for water tightness, especially if you're using it outdoors.

Both Flexstone and Duradek are highly durable, long-lasting deck coating options.
